Hard Mode starter mission question? - Guild Wars Forums

In the starter missions of Cantha (on the island), if a foreigner is in your party, supposedly, you can not get the reward for the mission on normal mode (according to guild wiki- nobody in the party gets the reward). Also, before you enter, an error-type message comes up, warning you that there is a foreigner among you and asking if you still wish to do it (this message pops up even with hard mode selected). Does the entire party not get a reward in hard mode as well because of foreigners?

i did chahbek village on hard mode with a tyrian character and 3 heroes and got the skill points, xp, and gold rewards. did minister cho's estate with the same heroes on hard mode but didn't get the extra rewards. not sure which way is intended.

I haven't noticed anything either way. I'd sumbit it as a bug report.

Foreign characters do get the rewards for Elonian starter missions, but not for Canthan or Tyrian starter missions. That is not a bug (to my knowledge).

As for the original question: I don't know, but I would assume those missions work in hard mode exactly like they do in normal mode, except for the quality of mobs, of course.

Ah, that's lame, just because it's for the entire party, not just the foreigner apparently. That was probably to prevent people from getting foreigner help with the missions or something... but on hard mode, that shouldn't matter.
